Allison's journey began at 17 as a nanny in the US, nurturing families and sparking her desire to support and uplift others. This passion led her to return to school and become a qualified social worker. She advocated for needy families with local governments and the private sector. In 2008, a pivotal move to Canada inspired Allison to embrace entrepreneurship by founding a company creating gifts for parents-to-be, which fueled her desire for deeper community connections.
Returning to the non-profit sector, she became a family mentor, supporting those facing mental health challenges and empowering them to navigate complex systems. This experience ignited her passion for coaching individuals and families to reach their full potential. She faced challenges while building her entrepreneurial path. Allison responded by establishing a networking group to support Black women entrepreneurs, leading to the birth of the Black Women Collective Social Enterprise.
Throughout her journey, she has dedicated herself to empowering families, youth, individuals, and marginalized communities. She serves as an advisor on the board of HBV and volunteers with Think2wice, supporting Black youth and men transitioning in and out of prison, focusing on resilience and healing.
